Ecohealth Quest Objectives
- Collaboratively identify actionable strategies to improve health through analysis of the complex epidemiological, geopolitical, social, ecological, other global contributions to human, animal and planetary health.
- Explore and critique the unique cultures, values, roles/responsibilities, and expertise of those supporting health within and outside of the health system and the impact these factors can have on human and animal populations and planetary health outcomes.
- Advance their own professional and interprofessional competency development through shared population-focused problem solving using available evidence, personal and interpersonal experiences, and reflective team-based practices.
- Build a stronger emotional connection to nature that includes a sense of interconnectedness to nature & commitment to protect nature.
- Enhance short-term wellbeing through improvements in perceived stress levels (and/or anxiety).

Students Get Out of the Classroom and Into Nature to Learn about Ecohealth

Important Details
- Applications for the Spring 2025 retreats will be accepted on a rolling basis until capacity is reached for each trip. See final deadline above.
- Student lodging and meal costs will be covered by the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs, regardless of whether participants are registering for elective credit or not.
- Participants will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the location of their retreat. Group contact information will be shared so that carpooling can be arranged if desired.
- Attendees may collaborate throughout the weekend in meal preparation, clean-up, etc.
- Experiences will be held at parks and nature centers. Participants will stay in on-site lodging.
- Itasca participants stay in shared heated cabins with full plumbing and kitchens. View Itasca example lodging photos.
- Baker Park participants stay on-site at the Baker Outdoor Learning Center, which includes shared rooms with comfortable furnishings and everyday comforts (heat, plumbing, etc).
- Overnight is optional at Baker; participants may return home on Friday night and come back to Baker early Saturday morning.
