Dozens of guests, supporters, community partners and Community-University Health Care Center (CUHCC) staff celebrated the new CUHCC clinic building at the July 13 Rooted In Community: A Groundbreaking Celebration event.
The event recognized several individuals and organizations who have helped make the new clinic building possible, including Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation. As part of Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation's mission to improve the health of Minnesotans by advancing oral health in the state, its significant contribution—the largest in the clinic’s history—will enhance CUHCC’s dental care, expand education of future dental and medical providers for Minnesota, promote collaborative and interprofessional care, and increase access to CUHCC’s innovative, affordable and compassionate healthcare for generations to come.
The new clinic will serve as a cornerstone to advance the Foundation-supported integration of oral health into medical education at the University, preparing future physicians to deliver more comprehensive, whole-person care.
Opening in late 2027, the new clinic building will be twice the size of the current clinic, and will have new spaces including a dental clinic, an onsite pharmacy, dedicated physical therapy space, and more.
"This new facility allows CUHCC to expand access to care, create more space to meet the needs of our community, and provide future physicians, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, and other health professionals the opportunity to learn in an environment where community partnership is at the heart of care," said Carol R. Bradford, MD, MS, FACS, Interim Executive Vice President for Health Affairs. “Thank you to the many people whose generosity has made this project possible. Your compassion, your commitment to community, and your belief in this mission will help ensure that CUHCC continues to provide exceptional care while preparing future healthcare professionals for many years to come.”
